Rhanz Cuison - President
Rhanz Cuison finished his MBA on February 2012 with a concentration in Finance and Derivative Markets and recently completed his Master of Science in Finance in May 2013. He works for Aon Benfield as a Catastrophe Risk Analyst. In this role, he analyzes portfolio risk exposure to major catastrophic event for insurance companies.
As former President of the Loyola Chapter Rhanz coordinated all Net Impact related activities making our organization the most active in the school. He was the primary liaison to the other Net Impact chapters and started the Chicago Area Net Impact Google Group, which is now the primary means of contact among all the Chicago Net Impact chapters. Rhanz was also a recipient of the 2011 Net Impact Leadership Award given at the 2011 Net Impact Conference. Prior to graduate school Rhanz attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures with a focus on Japan.
Anna Tarnoff - Vice President
Anna Tarnoff is the Senior Manager of Individual Giving at the Ounce of Prevention Fund, a nonprofit focused on early childhood education. In this role, Anna manages and builds relationships with individual donors and oversees donor communications and numerous fundraising events including the Ounce’s “It’s Good Business to Invest in Young Children” Luncheon. It 2012, the event raised over $600,000.
Prior to joining the Ounce in 2005, Anna worked for a boutique public relations firms focused on the hospitality and theater industry for clients including Hyatt Hotels, Judge & Dolph, and Broadway in Chicago. Her professional background also includes fundraising and event planning for the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. Anna volunteers with the Amandla Charter School and has previously served on the Board of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Chicago. She is passionate about global affairs, sustainability, and is excited to work with others interested in building partnerships to solve issues affecting us all. Anna has an MS in Communications from Northwestern University and a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington.
Abishek Boinpally - Service Projects
Abishek Boinpally is a Business Analyst at SurePayroll, a Chicago based company that provides payroll and payroll related services to small businesses with less than 50 employees. In this role, Abishek constantly works with project sponsors and stakeholders to design and oversee the development of new products and services. As a co-founder of Exxseed, a closed group professional networking platform catering at top graduate schools in the country, he is really excited to having launched his first startup in summer of 2012.
As a previous volunteer for Service Corps and USALC, he helped various non-profits and small businesses reach their short and long term goals. He is excited to be part of the leadership team for Chicago Net Impact Professional chapter as a Chair for Action Projects. In this leadership role his goals are to streamline the onboarding process for both partners and volunteers and to leverage the volunteering opportunity to members, to increase paid subscriptions for the chapter.
Abishek and his wife are married for two years and recently bought a house in North suburbs of Chicago. He is excited to be a first time home buyer but is not looking forward to mow the lawn and clear the snow. He enjoys running obstacle courses and is planning to run at least one Spartan race every year. He loves his sports bike and plans to convert his daily driver, Subaru STI, to a full fledge track car.
Kyrie Bock - Membership
Kyrie is currently an Investment Specialist at T. Rowe Price, Inc., a Global Investment Management Firm, where she builds and manages relationships playing a significant role in retirement planning for clients. In addition to her core role, she has lead company wide National Earth Day initiatives and drives awareness and change for Sustainability and Volunteerism in the T. Rowe Price culture.
She recently completed her M.B.A. with a dual concentration in Marketing and Management from Loyola University Chicago and prior to this, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Currently, Kyrie is earning a Professional Certificate for Leadership in Sustainability Management from University of Chicago.
Although she has a love for Marketing, it was here in Chicago she uncovered her passion and commitment to Sustainability and all its offerings. She also brings the experience of her Marketing Internship for London-based People.Profit.Planet. In addition, as a leader on the Membership Committee at Unity Temple Unitarian Church in Oak Park, IL, she actively indentifies opportunities for increasing growth and retention to the congregation and organization.
As a Florida native residing in Chicago, she enjoys outdoor activities such as running and beach volleyball, and is an ardent Bears fan. Her love and passion for the environment drives her professional desires to continue to make not only her local community in Chicago a great place to live, work and play “green”, but through Net Impact, looks forward to making that same positive “Impact” on an a global scale!
Ken Getty - Strategic Partnerships
Ken Getty serves as Net Impact Chicago Professional Chapter’s Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. Ken first joined Net Impact as a founding member and Vice President while receiving his Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northern Illinois University and passed the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Associate accreditation in late 2011.
Currently, Ken is a municipal finance consultant with Austin Meade Financial Ltd. and founder of Cerberus Consulting Group, a political and sustainability consulting firm. Ken’s passions include business strategy formation, sustainable enterprise transformation, corporate responsibility and social entrepreneurism. In his spare time you can find him running marathons, attending Chicago’s numerous street fests, catching a foul ball at a Cubs game or reading a book in your local coffee shop.
Josh Polasky - 501c3
Joshua Polasky is a Marketing and Strategy Director with InBalance Buildings and comes from a background of renewable energy and entrepreneurship. He previously worked with Renovo Energy LLC, a renewable development startup focused on commercial-scale wind and solar energy. He is passionate about the environment and especially inspired by helping integrate sustainability concepts into the business world. Among other things, Joshua has developed utility-scale wind farms for Acciona Energy; served as executive director of a community development and urban agriculture nonprofit; and installed residential solar systems in his native Wisconsin.
He currently serves on the leadership team for Net Impact’s Chicago Professional chapter. He holds an M.B.A. from Babson College, a J.D. from Indiana University–Bloomington, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Joshua enjoys live music, nonfiction, urban bike transportation, camping/hiking/paddling, attempting to read the entire internet, and running an occasional triathlon.
Michelle Smith - 501c3
Michelle has a background in environmental engineering and business. During her career she has held many global corporate assignments in the specialty materials and consumer products sectors. She was responsible for the creation and publication of several sustainabilty reports, prepared responses to numerous external and supply chain questionnaires such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, and served on the Economic Indicators Advisory Group for the GRI G3 Protocol. She is a Net Impact Lifetime Member.
Gita Rampersad - 501c3
Gita Rampersad is a public health professional who currently serves as the Manager of Community Health for the City of Blue Island, IL. Included in her role is the oversight of all major public health prevention initiatives for the city and its partners. As founder and chair of the Blue Island Community Health Coalition, Gita works closely with community partners to take a multidisciplinary approach to capacity building, policy adoption and program development as a strategy to improve health status in an area ripe with chronic disease and health disparities. Gita holds a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. She is a regular speaker at national, regional and local conferences on health prevention and building critical relationships to drive sustainability. Gita received the Excellence in Health Equity Award at the 3rd Annual Minority Health in the Midwest conference and was selected to participate in the inaugural National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health, a competitive applied leadership training program offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Gita is actively involved in a number of civic and professional organizations committed to addressing health and quality of life issues.
